Job DescriptionWhat You Will Do:
- Perform structural analysis in low cycle fatigue, damage tolerance, vibration, and fracture mechanics.
- Support development and improvement of structural analysis and lifing tools, including opportunities for automation and Python-based processing.
- Build or modify finite element models (ANSYS or equivalent).
- Complete pre‑ and post‑test data processing to support engineering evaluations.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to validate assumptions and ensure technical alignment.
- Identify opportunities to streamline internal workflows and propose improvements.
- Communicate analysis results, risks, and progress clearly to peers and leadership.
What You Will Learn:
- OEM‑specific fatigue & fracture mechanics methods and structural integrity processes.
- Advanced FEA modeling practices and structural modeling standards.
- Tools, methods, and workflows used in P&W LCF lifing and damage tolerance assessments.
- Cross‑functional collaboration across design, validation, materials, and lifing disciplines.
- How to independently drive engineering tasks with increasing technical ownership.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, or a related engineering field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to government program participation.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for analysis automation.
- Working knowledge of fatigue and fracture mechanics.
- Experience with ANSYS or similar FEA tools.
- Strong analytical judgment and detail‑oriented work habits.
- Ability to rapidly learn new processes, tools, and engineering methods.
- Proven ability to work independently with strong initiative and self-motivation.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.
-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
