What You Will Do
Senior Project Engineer in Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems is a tactical leader for advanced engine development tasks. The role focuses on component and module‑level Project Engineering, handling engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, and validation of technology development tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the rig development team as tactical leader to meet task and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and authorities on part and rig system development.
- Recommend improvements and address project problems by analyzing data and developing solutions.
- Provide occasional technical mentoring to experienced team members within the CIPT.
- Communicate status and technical content to the Component Integrated Product Team.
- Perform Control Account Manager duties: track progress, identify and resolve obstacles, minimize disruption to project budget and schedules.
- Integrate and manage sourcing activities with procurement, industrial, and manufacturing teams and the internal/external supply chain.
- Coordinate timely creation and release of product definition.
- Lead risk assessments and mitigation planning, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel up to 10% of the time.
- Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Strong team leadership skills.
- Exceptional customer focus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and engineering presentations to all levels of management.
- Experience in the aerospace/jet engine industry and prior gas turbine compressor design and development.
- Experience in a team‑leader role or similar task‑leadership position.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, MS Project, Agile (Scrum, Kanban), Jira, SAP, Evms, and continuous‑improvement tools such as CORE, QCPC.
- Demonstrated alignment with the Pratt & Whitney Leadership Operating Model.
USD 86,800 – 165,200 per year.
