Senior Technical Fellow – Coatings

P&W is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the role of Senior Technical Fellow – Coatings, reporting to the Vice President, Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering.

These coating processes include the four major categories of diffusion, vapor deposition, thermal spray, and low temperature coating. Specifically, the most critical processes include Air & Vacuum Plasma Spray and Physical Vapor Deposition.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead resolution of systemic quality and production issues related to coatings (including preparation and finishing processes) across internal and external supply chain sites.
  • Establish performance benchmarks and standardization to achieve best-in-class in coating processes
  • Lead Coating Process Council
  • Own the Coating technology roadmap & Parent/Child PFMEA's
  • Develop employee proficiency levels, training and mentorship for the sub-discipline
  • Contribute to and review the technical specifications for future capital acquisitions
  • Be the key change agent, reviewer and approver for coating procedures and standard work
  • Ensure best practices are captured and shared across producers
  • Support patent review teams as needed
  • Connecticut work location preferred. 20-30% travel

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering field
  • 20+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the aviation, turbo machinery and/or gas turbine industries
  • Excellent communication skills, including 1-on-1, group presentations, and written communications
  • U.S. citizen is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under certain programs/contracts

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with manufacturing standards and procedure ownership
  • Experience in developing and guiding high-performing teams.
  • Experience mentoring high potential candidates
  • Industry level recognition of expertise
  • Active security clearance
  • Ability to obtain US security clearance

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.

-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
