What You Will Do
  • Lead process development activities to improve print capability, increase speed, reduce cost, and enhance material performance for advanced RTX business unit product initiatives.
  • Support additive manufacturing (AM) qualification efforts utilizing IQ, OQ, and MQ protocols in collaboration with cross‑functional business unit teams.
  • Develop and employ advanced tools and equipment to characterize machine and process space.
  • Collaborate with government, industry, academia, and business unit partners to develop whitepapers, project concepts, and responsive proposals.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis (RCCA) on build failures, machine or process issues, or product performance gaps.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams – materials, design, simulation, operations, and characterization – to support and improve the full value stream.
  • Provide process expertise and best practices to support RTX business units.
Qualifications
  • University engineering degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in additive manufacturing tools and processes.
  • Scripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Experience with software and tools used in additive manufacturing, including CAD packages.
  • Hands‑on experience with metal laser powder‑bed‑fusion AM equipment.
  • Working understanding of AM machine sensors and control systems.
  • Effective communication skills—both verbal and written—in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment focused on innovation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
