The Senior Technical Fellow – Coatings reports to the Vice President, Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering and leads Pratt & Whitney’s Coating Process Council across worldwide manufacturing sites.
What You Will Do- Lead resolution of systemic quality and production issues related to coatings, including preparation and finishing processes across internal and external supply chain sites.
- Establish performance benchmarks and standardization to achieve best‑in‑class coating processes.
- Lead the Coating Process Council.
- Own the coating technology roadmap and related PFMEA’s.
- Develop employee proficiency levels, training, and mentorship for the sub‑discipline.
- Contribute to and review technical specifications for future capital acquisitions.
- Act as key change agent, reviewer, and approver for coating procedures and standard work.
- Ensure best practices are captured and shared across producers.
- Support patent review teams as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering field.
- 20+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the aviation, turbo machinery, and/or gas turbine industries.
- Excellent communication skills, including 1‑on‑1, group presentations, and written communications.
- Experience with manufacturing standards and procedure ownership.
- Experience in developing and guiding high‑performing teams.
- Experience mentoring high potential candidates.
- Industry level recognition of expertise.
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain U.S. security clearance.
Travel: 20‑30% required. Connecticut work location preferred.
Salary Range: $186,200 – $353,800 USD.
