Position Overview
Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems is looking for a Principal Integrated Product Team Leader who will lead engineering tasks for advanced engines programs including technology development, trade studies, rigs, and demonstrator engines. The role is onsite in Hartford, CT, requires U.S. citizenship, and has a salary range of $107,500 – $204,500.
Responsibilities- Support rig development team as tactical and strategic leader, meeting task and technical requirements.
- Work closely with team members and authorities on part and rig system development.
- Recommend improvements and identify and address project problems, analyze data, develop solutions, and meet deadlines.
- Mentor a senior member in the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT).
- Communicate status and technical content to CIPT.
- Perform Control Account Manager duties: track progress, identify and resolve obstacles to minimize disruption to project budget and schedules.
- Integrate and manage sourcing activities with procurement, industrial, and manufacturing team members and internal/external supply chain.
- Coordinate timely creation/release of product definition.
- Lead risk assessments and risk mitigation planning and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel up to 10% of time.
- Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of engineering experience OR Advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Preferable:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. - Demonstrated strong team leadership skills.
- Demonstrated exceptional customer focus.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, and engineering presentations to all levels of management.
- Experience in aerospace/jet engine industry, previous gas turbine compressor experience and design development experience.
- Experience in a team leader role or similar task leadership position.
- Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, MS Project.
- Experience in Agile Project Management, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Experience working with Jira software package.
- Thorough understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g., Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), Quality Control Process Charts (QCPC)).
- Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (e.g., Systems Applications and Products (SAP), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Teamcenter).
- Demonstration of skills consistent with the Pratt & Whitney Leadership Operating Model.
