Repair Source Approval Practitioner; Onsite

What You Will Do

• Review and approve critical Aftermarket processes used in the manufacture and repair of engine hardware, including welding, brazing, shot peening, heat treatment, surface finishing, bearing manufacturing/refurbishment, joining, coating, chemical processes, stripping, adhesive bonding, composites and surface treatments.
• Review and qualify supplier repair processes for commercial and military hardware to ensure compliance with DER‑approved technical data.
• Address material and processing needs, evaluate gas turbine engine hardware and materials.
• Review detailed process‑specific operation sheets, process monitoring, non‑destructive evaluation, destructive metallurgical testing, and material property analysis; pilot test chemical processes.
• Document and analyze data/results to substantiate qualification of processes; prepare reports and generate standard work.
• Travel globally to source sites to witness processing and verify process readiness.
• Identify steps required to execute repairs and estimate associated costs.

• How repairs are identified and how technical data is generated, released, and approved across all commercial and military engine programs.
• A deep understanding of Aftermarket shop operations and associated regulations.
• Technical knowledge of critical Aftermarket processes and how they differ from OEM operations.
• Proficiency in multiple manufacturing processes and repairs.
• Experience working with Aftermarket sources worldwide.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience; OR an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following areas: design, manufacturing and/or materials engineering associated with welding, brazing, shot peening, heat treatment, surface finishing, bearing manufacturing/refurbishment, joining, coating, chemical processes, stripping, adhesive bonding, composites and surface treatments.

• Master’s of Science in Engineering or equivalent advanced degree.
• Green Belt and/or Black Belt certification and training.
• Prior experience in engine hardware design, manufacturing or Aftermarket operations.
• Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney design and quality systems.
