Senior Principal Systems Engineer – Pratt & Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI)

Location:

Hartford, CT – Onsite (U.S.

-based). U.S. citizenship required.

Senior Principal Systems Engineer role supporting next generation propulsion programs, leading MBSE development, integration, and maturation of system models, and driving digital engineering initiatives.

• Lead the development of Systems Engineering Models as a subject matter expert, performing requirements analysis, logical and physical architecture definition, interface definition, verification planning, trade studies, and system integration.
• Coordinate with leadership, team members, and cross‑functional teams in a highly matrixed organization.
• Participate in customer and internal gate reviews throughout the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate extended team model development efforts, enforce engineering best practices, and ensure compliance with EDSI standard work.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading small cross‑functional engineering teams.
• Experience in systems engineering roles or familiarity with systems engineering methods.
• Proficient using a SysML tool (e.g., IBM Rhapsody®, Cameo/Magic Draw®, or equivalent).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Secret clearance required).

• Background in propulsion, gas turbine systems, or mission‑critical aerospace applications.
• Proficiency in Cameo Systems Modeler or Cameo Enterprise Architect.
• Knowledge of MBSE best practices.
• Certification in systems engineering and/or SysML (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, OCSMP).
• Proficiency with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Experience writing proposals, generating basis of estimates.
• Active Secret clearance.

U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
