Salary RangeThe salary range for this role is 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD.
What You Will Do- Develop physics‑based models for creep, thermo‑mechanical fatigue, CMAS infiltration, and thermal barrier coating spallation.
- Apply solid and fracture mechanics principles to improve durability predictions and reduced‑order damage models.
- Create and formalize processes, workflows, and documentation for durability modeling, integration, and validation.
- Coordinate with MPE to define material testing needs and support data interpretation.
- Develop reduced‑order models to be incorporated into hot‑section lifing tools and DDS.
- Support geometry creation, manipulation, and morphing in NX to enable consistent model setup and tool workflows.
- Advocate for and coordinate university research efforts; oversee relevant data collection to support mechanism development.
- Benchmark emerging research, modeling techniques, and material characterization relevant to gas turbine damage mechanisms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- 8 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and 5 years of related engineering experience.
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science.
- Understanding of damage mechanisms associated with turbine hardware.
- Experience with solid mechanics and fracture mechanics.
- Experience with geometry operations within NX.
