OverviewHot Section Engineering (HSE) is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units. Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.
ResponsibilitiesPratt and Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is looking for a highly motivated, goal oriented and detail focused engineer to join its team. This position requires demonstrated leadership, excellent communication skills, and a command of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering foundational knowledge. We are looking for an engineering leader to champion our key transformation shifts and identify new ways to improve project task execution for the F135 Program.
Specific responsibilities will be leading Project Tasks for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) consisting of a cross functional group of project, design, structures, and aerodynamic team members. The Senior Engineer will need to communicate the status of technical issues, and budgets to Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) leaders, HSE leadership, internal program offices and external customers. They may also need to work closely with purchasing, suppliers, customer support and the sustainment organizations to support engine deliveries and respond to field challenges as needed.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 5 years of engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree or 3 years with an advanced degree.
- BS Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Advanced proficiency and knowledge of Project Planning, schedules and prior EVMS/CAM (Earned Value Management System / Control Account Management) experience
- Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney Project tools and procedures.
- Familiarity with Gas Turbine hardware
- Demonstrated leadership in engineering continuous improvement and strong communication, interpersonal, time management with organizational skills.
- An active security clearance is not required but ability to apply for one, after day start would be desired.

- Salary range: 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility. Candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of the role type.
