Overview
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a customer‑focused, technically proficient Project Engineer to join our Mechanical Systems, Externals & Nacelles (MSEN) engineering organization. The team is responsible for the design, development, integration, and certification of gas turbine engine systems supporting our commercial engine programs. U.S. citizenship is required, and the role is U.S.‑based with onsite work.
Responsibilities- Coordinate engineering activities and technical task execution with suppliers, customers, airframers, and cross‑functional teams to ensure successful program delivery.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and execution plans to achieve program milestones.
- Communicate project status, key performance metrics, risks, and mitigation plans to the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) and Engine Design & System Integration (EDSI) leadership.
- Lead Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and airframers to drive alignment and support timely decision‑making.
- Coordinate field support activities, including customer support documentation and leak testing with Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities, to ensure product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Travel approximately 15% domestically and internationally.
Gain experience managing engineering projects from planning through execution by coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, suppliers, customers, and airframers. Develop expertise in resolving technical issues, supporting field activities, and ensuring product delivery while managing schedules, budgets, risks, and Agile workflows.
Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, and at least 2 years of relevant engineering experience; or an advanced degree in a related field.
- Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney’s Leadership Operating Model or a comparable project execution framework is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills to develop creative solutions for complex technical and business challenges.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and working directly with customers, suppliers, and external partners.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
Salary range: 68,900
USD – 131,100
USD, commensurate with experience.
