Role Summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead for the critical F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) Mechanical System project. Based within the Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) organization, you will own core bearing compartment components, lead the Component IPT (CIPT), manage supplier and customer interfaces, and drive the full lifecycle from design through field support.

What You Will Do
  • Accountable for part‑level ownership, ensuring timely communication, proactive risk management, and consistent execution of program requirements.
  • Lead the IPT in identifying, managing, and closing key technical risks and issues with defined action plans and measurable progress.
  • Guide the IPT through technical and program reviews, setting clear milestones and validating deliverables against program standards.
  • Manage IPT budgets and schedules, monitoring performance against baselines and addressing variances promptly.
  • Drive IPT metrics, establishing targets, tracking performance, and implementing corrective actions to align with program goals.
  • Represent the IPT in presentations with Customers, SIPT, IPMT, and Senior Leadership, delivering concise updates.
  • Provide technical support for validation engine builds and test activities, ensuring accurate and safe task completion.
  • Travel Requirement: 10% domestic.
What You Will Learn
  • Develop leadership skills by managing cross‑functional engineering teams, budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation.
  • Gain deep technical expertise on bearing compartments, bearings, seals, and housings throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership, customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams, communicating progress and resolving challenges.
  • Improve engineering processes through Lean principles, performance metrics, problem solving, and mentoring junior engineers.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, military, or logistics industries leading complex engineering projects or teams.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Aerospace or turbofan engine industry experience.
  • Basic understanding of Pratt & Whitney’s Leadership Operating Model (LOM) or similar.
  • Organizational and project management skills (PMP certification).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams in strategic projects.
  • Resourcefulness in solving complex problems with vendor and customer interactions.
  • Continuous Improvement experience, Lean, Six‑sigma, or similar training.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Solumina, SAP, Teamcenter, etc.
Compensation

Salary range: 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD. Compensation is based on role, function, responsibilities, experience, education, and key skills.
