Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) is a dynamic Systems Engineering organization focused on development and certification of commercial, military, and industrial gas turbine engines. EDSI is responsible for overall engine system definition including thermodynamic cycle and architecture, system structural design, requirements management, air vehicle systems integration, and certification. The EDSI Propulsion Systems Analysis (PSA) organization has specific responsibility for engine performance, operability, system modeling, validation, certification, production & aftermarket support, and active fleet support.
EDSI is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven PSA Engineering Intern to support development of the Geared Turbofan PW1100G-JM engine program - the most advanced propulsion system for the Airbus A320NE
O/A321NE
O commercial jetliner. Strong technical and communication skills are required to drive product improvements, manage safety items to resolution, and to delight our customers.
- Conduct system trade studies to optimize the engine thermodynamic cycle for performance, durability, time on wing, operability, and other system metrics.
- Support Production, Aftermarket and Fielded engine performance with a focus on the following areas: performance trending, statistical process control, limit exceedance and quality assurance dispositions, test cell correlations, effectivity of overhaul work scope via gas generator component analysis, deterioration modeling and trend shift diagnosis via gas generator component analysis.
- Investigate engine events utilizing production, aftermarket, and field data sources.
- Plan and execute engine validation testing and certification.
- Integrate activities of the systems organization with component groups, partners, production and aftermarket sites.
- Execute strategic transformation of tools and processes.

- Our intern program seeks to help you develop an understanding of the aerospace industry and learn about our company and its operations.
- Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
- Coursework or experience in one or more of the following engineering disciplines: thermodynamics and engine performance, aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer & secondary flow, statistics, functional integration, validation testing, software design and data analytics.
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas.
- Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience.
- Experience with coding languages such as Python, Matlab, NPSS or equivalent.
- Degree program in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer & Data Science
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
