Senior Field Service Engineer

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to join our Customer Technical Services team. In this role, you will manage and resolve technical issues for the PW2000/PW4000/GP7000 engines to ensure engine safety, maintain world-class operational metrics (Delays and Cancellation rate, In-Flight-Shut-Down rate, Unscheduled Engine Removal rate, etc.), contribute to acceptable shop Turn-Around-Time, and reduce the maintenance burden for our customers.

You will also interface and coordinate with Pratt & Whitney engineering and program organizations, customers, and engine overhaul facilities to support technical issues and monitor our fleets. This role is highly customer-facing, with responsibility for owning technical communication with our customers through customer relationship management tools, meetings, and conferences.

What You Will Do:

  • Work directly with airline customers and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) engine shops around the world that operate aircraft powered by PW4000, PW2000, and GP7000 engines.
  • Triage urgent and Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) requests and coordinate timely technical solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations for on-wing and off-wing troubleshooting, problem resolution, service bulletin retrofit activities, and interpretation of engine manuals.
  • Partner with Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) Engineering to develop and execute field service plans and implement hardware changes that support customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in airline customer meetings, technical conferences, and other customer engagements.
  • Initiate development of technical data, including Engineering Authorizations (EA), Special Instructions, and other maintenance documentation supporting on-wing and engine shop activities, including Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Engine Manuals (EM), Clean, Inspect and Repair (CIR), and Maintenance Planning Guides (MPG).
  • Collaborate with Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering (ASE) Repair, Fleet Management Programs (FMP), Customer Service/Client Managers, MRO and Engine Overhaul organizations, Standard Practices, CIPTs, Chief Engineer's Office, Structures, and Performance Analysis teams to ensure clear, accurate, and timely engine inspection and maintenance data.
  • Provide technical support to Pratt & Whitney Product Safety, Certification & Validation (PSCV), and airframer teams regarding engine modification, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Assist customer engineers, maintenance control technicians, and Field Service Representatives (FSRs) in resolving on-site technical challenges.
  • Support urgent customer issues outside normal working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel approximately 5% domestically and internationally for customer meetings, technical conferences, and safety or operational event investigations.

What You Will Learn:

  • Deepen your technical expertise across the PW2000, PW4000, and GP7000 engine families through real-world troubleshooting and operational support.
  • Develop advanced problem-solving skills by resolving time-sensitive technical issues that directly impact airline operations and aircraft availability.
  • Strengthen customer-facing and communication skills by working directly with airlines, MROs, and global maintenance organizations.
  • Build cross-functional leadership skills by partnering with engineering, safety, certification, repair, fleet management, and customer service teams.
  • Gain a broader understanding of how engineering decisions impact engine reliability, fleet performance, maintenance, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5 years of related engineering experience, or an Advanced degree with 3 years of related engineering experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Jet engine knowledge and experience, including a functional understanding of engine hardware such as disks, airfoils, seals, cases, and engine systems.
  • Experience supporting commercial aircraft, airline operations, engine maintenance, or MRO environments.
  • Experience with aircraft/engine troubleshooting, technical problem resolution, or field service support.
  • Experience working directly with customers in a technical engineering environment.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication to provide clear instructions and answers to customers
