The Industrial Engineering Internship Program is targeted at college engineering students designed to expose you to the high technology, fast-paced world of aviation manufacturing with challenging assignments in the many disciplines of Manufacturing which include part manufacturing, assembly, and specialties such as Coating, Welding, Forging, and Machining.
Development occurs with Pratt & Whitney Industrial Engineering training, data collection and improvement projects as well day to day assignments. At the conclusion of the internship, students will be presenting their results to high level managers and executives as part of their progression development in becoming a full-time Industrial Engineer.
Available internship positions are in the following locations East Hartford or Middletown CT, North Berwick ME, Asheville NC, Columbus GA, and Lansing MI.
What You Will Do- Evaluate operations and identify improvement opportunities, utilizing data analysis and metrics.
- Review and analyze work cell layout, process flow, material flow, to establish standard work.
- Conduct labor and machine capacity analysis to identify improvements.
- Maintain and update time standards for established operations.
- Application of Manufacturing Standard work Cell Design
- Application of Lean principles Kaizen, 5S, SMED Power BI
- Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program at the time of the assignment.
- Eligible majors include Industrial and System Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Data mining & manipulation experience with Excel, VBA, SQL, other methods.
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
