Your Role as a Direct Care Staff
The Direct Care Staff works within the Agency’s team model, establishing open communication, support, and accountability among co‑workers. They provide a supportive residential environment for individuals who are challenged by mental health and substance abuse histories in a community‑based group home. The Sequoia House specializes in working with individuals that have forensic mental health conditions. Our goal is to provide an environment that encourages program participants to grow and to live as independently as possible.
- Daily activities include providing direct services to program clients living in a group home setting in the community
- Supporting clients' activities of daily living and monitoring clients' self‑administered medication
- Advocating for individuals within various community settings, and providing opportunities to optimize their independence, rehabilitation and recovery
- Developing professional and supportive relationships with clients and providing informal counseling and guidance with a person‑centered focus
- The ideal candidates will have a desire to work with members of our community who have mental illness and substance abuse struggles or both
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable, registered & insured vehicle and approved driving record check
- All candidates must complete and pass background record screening process

Available SchedulesPart‑time 3rd shift, 10:00 pm‑6:00 am. Nights on:
Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Days off:
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Part‑time 2nd shift, 2:00 pm‑10:00 pm. Days on:
Friday, Saturday. Days off:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Those having a passion for helping others with kind and a positive approach make for an ideal candidate for the Direct Care role. Additionally, having strong interpersonal skills, empathy for others, and demonstrated commitment to serving those with significant needs, ability to work well within a team model and independently. You will also need to bring good written and verbal skills, and a strong level of compassion to meet the needs of the individuals served.
Payand Benefits
Pay rate is $20.00/hr take advantage of a phenomenal benefit package that includes dental, health and life insurance. Paid time off, earned vacation time and paid holidays just to name a few.
