- Provide data support for critical activities of the Military Engines organization, including field operations, product improvement, maintenance forecasting, part forecasting, business planning, proposal development, and safety analysis.
- Analyze data requirements and deliver periodic reports and one‑time data results.
- Create database queries and procedural code when existing queries and code are not sufficient to satisfy data requests.
- Perform data quality analyses, including identifying and addressing erroneous data.
- Assist in requirements specification, contractor guidance, and development of new data applications, such as a new large‑scale consolidated data system for multiple engine data needs.
- Provide data management and database development services for existing database systems to maintain a high level of database readiness and integrity.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- MA/MS in Computer Science or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Expert level in SQL to query and manipulate data in relational databases; extensive experience writing stored procedures and UDFs.
- Advanced skills in database management systems such as Oracle, including the ability to automate processes using application code.
- Expertise in business intelligence and visualization software such as Business Objects, Qlik Sense, or similar.
- Experience building custom ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- In‑depth understanding of data‑warehouse concepts.
- Project‑management skills using agile methodology, including prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and following through on high‑profile projects.
- Self‑motivated and capable of working independently as well as within a group environment.
- Ability to work well in an environment that emphasizes continuous process improvement and process standardization.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are required.
- Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, and VBScript.
- Knowledge of data‑cleansing techniques using off‑the‑shelf software products.
- Experience with frameworks for distributed computing, particularly Hortonworks/Cloudera implementations of Hadoop.
- Statistical experience is a plus.
