The primary focus is the execution, implementation, and validation of centrally operational technologies for controls hardware and software for Pratt & Whitney.
PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Develop and assist in creating standard procedures related to controls and network hardware, including component lists, supplier selection, design, implementation validation, network architecture, and documentation.
- Evaluate current infrastructure onsite.
- Implement standards for controls software: PLC programming, Ignition scripting and visualization, SDN requirements, firewall rules, data collection interfaces, database design, data collection templates, driver creation, performance board and HMI screen standardization.
- Maintain procedures for revision level standardization and apply Pratt & Whitney standard hardware/software/network architecture.
- Provide technical problem resolution for current and future projects.
- Communicate across all levels within RTX and Pratt & Whitney, form teams, consult programs, and liaise with site operations.
- Meet Environmental Health & Safety and Preventative Maintenance requirements. Travel up to 50%.
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Electrical Engineering, Computer/Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in automated systems in manufacturing environments.
- U.S. Citizen due to program requirements.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- Excellent judgment, professional maturity, and clear communication.
Preferred:
- Experience with Studio 5000 Logix designer, Siemens TIA Portal, Ignition!, Factory Talk, RS Networks, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and team building skills.
- Self‑starter with ability to work with minimal direction.
- Extensive experience with controls hardware design, troubleshooting component manufacturers and applications.
- SQL database construction, software development, Ignition scripting, OPC UA interfaces, PLC code and HMI development.
- Salary range: $86,800 - $165,200 USD.
