Airfoil Cell Operator - 2nd Shift; onsite

Pratt & Whitney is reinventing the future of flight by designing, building, and servicing engines unlike any the world has seen. We are looking for an Airfoil Cell Operator (2nd Shift, onsite) to join our tight‑knit team.

Location:

Hartford, CT (US‑CT‑EAST). U.S. citizenship is required; no security clearance is needed.

• Perform routine servicing of assigned equipment following specified procedures and checklists.
• Set up and operate simple machines or grouped equipment to produce parts, using proper tooling and fixtures.
• Transport parts, raw material, and fixtures within the workspace.
• Operate from operation sheets, drawings, and computer data to machine, fabricate, and finish production parts.
• Conduct bench assembly and finishing operations with handheld tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Prepare parts for coating through grit blasting, shot peening, masking, and routine oven operations.
• Use fixed and variable measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results in computer data systems.
• Assist with new equipment or process trials as assigned, staying within skill level.
• Report difficulties or equipment issues to leader or supervisor.
• Carry out additional tasks as needed to support department objectives and skill development.

• Must Have
• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of experience with machining methods or equivalent to one year of technical experience.
• Preferred
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent judgment and professional maturity.
• Strong people, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• History of teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Priority consideration given to candidates who are INTERNAL (consideration for recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
