Third-generation family business with 80 years of continuous operation and long-tenured employees Job Details Key Responsibilities and Duties Lead a multi-department team of CNC Operators and Set-Up Operators in a high-mix / low-volume aerospace component manufacturing environment. Manage day-to-day priorities across multiple machining departments, cross-train staff on best practices, and drive improved set-up and run-time performance. Develop and author standard work for production equipment;

coach and train teammates on safety, departmental, and QMS policies. Motivate the team to meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals; identify waste and non-value-added tasks and lead lean continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate time-off requests using the skills matrix to ensure adequate staffing across all machine centers. Measure, monitor, and publish individual performance vs. department standards; complete periodic performance evaluations and handle corrective actions, up to and including disciplinary action when needed.

Host daily GEMBA walks and serve as primary conduit between operators and cross-functional teams; attend production and quality clinic / MRB meetings. Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, production control, and sales teams to drive open issues to rapid closure. Partner with production control to stage daily / weekly priorities, expedite jobs, and maintain ERP data integrity (job punches match traveler package).

Qualifications (Needed) High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or associate degree in a manufacturing / engineering discipline preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing of precision machined components, ideally in a regulated industry such as aerospace or medical device. Experience leading and managing a team toward common goals; previous team-lead or supervisor experience preferred. Strong background in high-mix / low-volume machining environments with an emphasis on lean manufacturing.

Proven ability to drive operational metrics including First Pass Yield, efficiency, WIP aging, On-Time-Delivery, job cost, and scrap rate. Strong computer skills — ERP systems, job clocking systems, CAD/CAM software, and Microsoft Outlook / Excel / PowerPoint. Previous EPICOR experience a plus. High degree of urgency, accountability, and attention to detail; effective communicator who can build rapport with a diverse shop-floor team.
