Barnes Aerospace is currently offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus to qualified CNC Machinists.

Why This Role ExistsThis role exists to support precision aerospace manufacturing programs requiring tight-tolerance grinding operations. At Barnes Aerospace, this position plays a key role in finishing critical components where surface integrity, dimensional accuracy, and consistency are essential.
The Work You’ll Be DoingIn this role, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC and manual grinding equipment in a precision machining environment
- Perform surface and precision grinding operations on aerospace components
- Work from blueprints, operation sheets, and work instructions to meet exact specifications
- Make adjustments to offsets and machine parameters to maintain quality
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, depth gages, height gages, and dial calipers
- Hold tight tolerances on critical features and surfaces
- Perform in-process inspection to ensure parts meet print requirements
- Support production flow by preparing parts for downstream operations
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve machining and quality issues
You’ll work with equipment such as:
- Machines: CNC grinding machines and surface grinders, including Campbell grinders and other precision grinding equipment
- Controls: Fanuc and other CNC control systems depending on equipment
- Inspection Tools: Micrometers, depth gages, height gages, dial calipers, and other precision measuring tools
- Inconel
- Titanium
- Stainless Steel
- Other aerospace alloys
- 3+ years of CNC grinding or machining experience
- Experience setting up and operating precision grinding equipment or CNC machines
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
- Strong attention to detail and ability to hold tight tolerances
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work in a team‑based manufacturing environment
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Experience with surface grinding or precision grinding operations
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls
