About This Role
The RN Wound Specialist will develop and coordinate agency-wide programs for the prevention and management of skin breakdown, providing expert consultation and hands-on care for patients with acute or chronic wounds. This role is ideal for a dedicated nurse looking to make a significant impact in wound care management.
Highlights- Location: East Hartford, CT
- Schedule: Full Time, Day shift
- Department/Unit: 95005-Hartford Certified Gen
- Develop and coordinate agency-wide programs for skin breakdown prevention and management.
- Provide expert consultation and hands-on care for individual patients with wounds.
- Establish and coordinate multi-disciplinary management plans.
- Identify trends and develop standardized prevention and treatment protocols.
- Implement educational programs for patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
- Coordinate quality improvement initiatives to optimize skin and wound outcomes.
- Manage regional wound care program metrics and ensure quality care delivery.
- Collaborate with regional WOCN staff to plan interventions for complex client care.
- Participate in training and onboarding for the Wound program.
- Research new information related to wound specialty and communicate findings to the team.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing required
- WOCN certification required
- MSN preferred
- Minimum of two years nursing experience in clinical specialty area required
- Minimum two years in homecare preferred
Certifications:
- Current RN License required
- Obtain Wound/Ostomy certification within 6 months of hire required
