Manufacturing Engineer – Hollow Fan Blade (HFB) Unit

The selected candidate will collaborate with senior manufacturing engineers and the OpX Team to identify key process variables, develop controls that alert process owners to capability changes, and connect component geometry changes to functional performance through correlation and aerodynamic & structural modeling.
You will lead root‑cause investigations addressing low First Pass Yield, high Cost of Poor Quality, and low throughput, applying data‑science and statistical expertise to gather and analyze large datasets, deploy investigative tools, and recommend solutions that improve operations, continuous improvement, waste reduction, and overall business performance.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and monitor Multivariate Statistical Process Controls using traditional SPC rules and custom methods.
- Lead root‑cause investigations and work with process owners to execute solution implementation.
- Relate key process inputs to outputs using PFMEA or Characteristics Matrices.
- Identify relationships between part geometry and performance with Designed Experiments (DOE) and statistical modeling.
- Perform ad‑hoc data analysis requests to support business improvement objectives.
- Assemble, lead, and present Monthly MCAB (Manufacturing Corrective Action Board) meetings.
- Ensure business maintains compliance with deviations, MSPC, and FA requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, aerospace, Data Science, or related field).
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in mathematical/statistical software such as Minitab, JMP, or MATLAB.
- Experience with databases/data warehouses and constructing queries.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Red‑X Apprentice experience.
- Strong data analytics and statistical modeling skills, including Principal Component Analysis, Linear Regression, Partial Least Squares, and Gaussian Process Modeling.
- Database/data warehouse and query experience with Databricks, SQL, and Python.
- Demonstrated ability to lead root‑cause investigations, propose corrective actions, and execute implementation of technical solutions.
Salary range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, holidays, and other standard RTX benefits.
