The Commercial Lines Account Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in East Hartford, CT. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial accounts, handling day-to-day service needs such as policy changes, certificates of insurance, billing inquiries, and renewal processing. The Commercial Lines Account Manager will work closely with clients to assess coverage needs, prepare proposals, and coordinate with carriers to ensure appropriate and timely placement of coverage.
Daily responsibilities include responding to customer inquiries, maintaining accurate account documentation, supporting producers with new business and renewals, and helping clients understand policy terms and risk management options. The role involves regular communication via phone, email, and in-person meetings to provide proactive, high-quality service to commercial clients across multiple industries.
- Candidates should possess strong Commercial Lines Coverage and Insurance knowledge, including familiarity with business policies and industry-specific risks.
- Candidates should possess solid Account Management skills, including portfolio management, renewal coordination, and documentation accuracy.
- Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service abilities, including clear communication, problem-solving, and relationship building with business clients.
- Candidates should possess an understanding of Employee Benefits and the ability to coordinate with benefits offerings when relevant to commercial accounts.
- Property and Casualty insurance license (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe) is preferred.
- Prior experience in an insurance agency or carrier environment, particularly in commercial lines, is highly beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with agency management systems and standard office software are important.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and carriers, while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
