About the Role

Here at Fournier Irrigation we specialize in the installation and service of irrigation systems and operate seasonally from April through November, weather permitting, due to freezing temperatures. During the off-season (December through March), employees typically collect unemployment and return the following season.

Our standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Because of increased workload at the beginning of the season, employees are also required to work the first eight Saturdays in the spring.

This position is physically demanding and primarily outdoors, involving tasks such as digging to locate sprinkler heads and underground piping. On the service side, mechanical aptitude is important. We provide training in electrical troubleshooting, as well as the use of flow and pressure gauges to diagnose pneumatic issues. Prior irrigation experience is not required; we are looking for dependable, self-motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow.

Our focus is on developing careers, not just filling jobs. In Connecticut, irrigation is a licensed trade, and employees have the opportunity to enter an apprenticeship program and work toward obtaining a state trade license. We are committed to training individuals who want to build long-term skills and advance within the industry.
