Position SummaryThis position provides routine maintenance services to the Goodwin University campus.
Essential Job Functions / Primary Responsibilities- Advanced painting, carpentry, and plumbing skills
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and HVAC systems and complete repairs
- Perform advanced preventive building maintenance tasks
- Move furniture, boxes, and files
- Flexible work hours
- Ensure all safety procedures are practiced
- Perform similar or related work as required, directed or as situation permits
- Be on call week in rotation
- Continue professional development and training; keep current with trends
- Assist other department staff as needed to promote a team effort
- Commitment to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and treat all members with respect and dignity
- Strong customer service skills
- Good organizational skills
- Not afraid of heights (working on ladders or lift)
- Ability to use most hand and power tools
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills
- Advanced trade skills (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and painting)
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least two years of experience in the maintenance field
- OSHA 10 certification
- Valid CT driver’s license and insured vehicle
- Lift certification preferred
- Work with fumes or airborne particles
- Work near moving mechanical parts
- Risk of electrical shock
- Vibration
- Standing, walking, sitting, talking & hearing, using hands/fingers to handle/feel, climbing or balancing, bending, pulling, pushing, driving
- Lifting up to 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, and over 100 pounds
- Close vision (clear at 20 inches or less)
- Distance vision (clear at 20 feet or more)
- Color vision (identify and distinguish colors)
- Peripheral vision (observe an area while eyes fixed on a point)
- Depth perception (judge distances and spatial relationships)
