Agile Software Development – CDS​/Engine System Software Principal Engineer P4; Onsite

Responsibilities

The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated, team‑oriented, and results‑driven Principal Engineer to join the Engine System Software organization. The qualified candidate will be responsible for:

• Developing and/or leading software requirements and designs within the Agile Framework.
• Decomposing system level and customer interface requirements into software requirements and designs.
• Documenting traceability or rationale for derived requirements and designs.
• Conducting iterative prototype testing of requirements and designs.
• Performing reviews of requirements and designs.
• Participating in software planning, estimating and tracking.
• Producing software requirement and design specifications.
• Performing and/or leading software verification within the Agile Framework.
• Conducting regression analysis to determine verification scope.
• Developing/reviewing software test descriptions with traceability to software requirements.
• Developing and executing electronic bench test scripts.
• Evaluating/reviewing test results.
• Executing robustness testing.
• Executing low‑level module/object testing.
• Conducting Verification Reviews.
• Producing Verification Reports.
• Participating in and/or leading Agile ceremonies.
• Potential to serve as Agile Scrum Master, Product Owner, Product Manager, and/or part of the Development Team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 8 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree and 5 years of experience.

• Solid track record of achieving results in a technical role.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, high‑pressure engineering environment.
• Prior experience developing software in an Agile framework.
• Prior safety‑critical software development experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards such as DO178B.
• Outstanding cross‑discipline communication skills.
• Familiarity with jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures and control logic design.
