Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a busy property management organization in East Lansing, Michigan. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys accurate financial processing, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining organized payables records. The person in this role will help ensure timely invoice handling and dependable support for day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

- Review incoming vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding before entry into the accounting system.

- Process accounts payable transactions in a timely manner to support on-schedule vendor payments and strong financial controls.

- Match invoices with supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.

- Maintain organized payment records, invoice files, and related documentation for audit readiness and reporting needs.

- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, missing details, and account questions in a clear and courteous manner.

- Assist with routine account reconciliations and help monitor outstanding payables to keep records current.

- Support accounting workflows by identifying issues in invoice processing and escalating exceptions when needed. Requirements
