This opportunity entails being responsible for performing routine document controls assignments requiring basic knowledge of document controls principles. It administers the document lifecycle for engineering and construction documents, defines standards and workflows for document management, and leads the collection, authoring, publication, storage, and retrieval of documents. This position is part‑time.
Responsibilities- Administer the collection, authorization, publication, storage, retrieval, and retention of documents to ensure control and availability of documentation to site personnel.
- Administer the document controls strategy, systems, and policies and procedures, including authoring, approval, publishing, version control, and archiving of all project or program‑related documents.
- Maintain electronic project record files and copy or scan documents as needed for distribution and storage duties.
- Prepare records for inactive storage according to the Records Retention Schedule.
- Support regular audits of document control processes and procedures.
- Assist in providing training to project personnel regarding document control and record retention policies, procedures, and project management system use.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in relevant field, or
- In lieu of a degree, high school diploma/GED or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in document control/document management or technical administrative support.
- AASHTOWare experience.
- MDOT Office Technician Certification.
