Job Summary:
The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) at Michigan State University seeks to hire self-driven, engaging Student Clerical Aides to perform routine clerical support for FSL and our Welcome Desk. An ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, able to handle confidential information with diligence and care, and has excellent time management, interpersonal and communication skills. Our office is a student-facing space that prides itself on a positive and welcoming work environment.
We are optimally looking for team members who are eager to stay with our office until graduation. Successful candidates can look forward to starting immediately.
Work study is authorized for this position. All students can apply regardless of work study status.
Key Responsibilities:- Visitor Engagement: Greet visitors warmly and assist them with inquiries.
- Students must be knowledgeable of Fraternity & Sorority Life
- Communication: Answer phone calls, transfer them as needed, and take messages for office staff.
- Office Maintenance: Regularly walk around the office to tidy up and ensure a clean, organized environment.
- Mail Management: Sort and distribute incoming mail to ensure timely delivery to staff members and councils.
- Supply Organization: Maintain and organize office supplies, ensuring that everything is accessible and in order.
- Snack Restocking: Monitor snack supplies and restock as needed to keep offerings fresh and available for visitors.
- Duties are subject to change due to the ever-changing needs of the office.
- Ideally can work 15-20 hours Tuesdays - Thursdays
- Current student at Michigan State University
- Current member of the MSU Fraternity and Sorority Community
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness and organization.
