Project Assistant (Student) - Project-Based Data & Research Support Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented student interested in Project Management and/or Data Analytics to assist with a variety of project-based initiatives that improve the quality and organization of business information. Each project will have a defined scope, timeline, and deliverables, offering the opportunity to build professional skills while contributing to meaningful business improvements.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organizing information, identifying inconsistencies, and creating accurate, polished work products.
Projects may include:
- Compiling and organizing briefing materials for prospective donor meetings with university leadership.
- Reviewing existing prospect profiles for completeness and consistency.
- Standardizing formatting, content, and data across prospect briefings.
- Entering and updating information in databases and CRM systems.
- Cleaning, validating, and reconciling data from multiple sources.
- Conducting basic online research to fill information gaps.
- Creating documentation of project processes and recommendations for future improvements.
- Supporting other special projects as business needs arise.
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain business data.
- Review information for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Follow established templates, naming conventions, and quality standards.
- Identify missing or questionable information and flag it for review.
- Meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Communicate project status and raise issues proactively.
- Maintain confidentiality of business information.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel
- Comfortable working with AI
- Ability to learn new software and processes quickly.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable and able to manage time effectively.
- Curious and analytical mindset.
- Takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Enjoys organizing complex information.
- Comfortable asking questions when clarification is needed.
- Able to identify opportunities to improve processes while completing assigned work.
- Project-based assignments with clearly defined objectives and timelines.
- Flexible scheduling around academic commitments.
- Hours will vary by project, typically ranging from 5-15 hours per week during active assignments.
