Impact 89FM is seeking a talented and organized student to serve as the Production Assistant. This role combines creativity, technical expertise, and support to our station through audio branding. The Production Assistant works closely with the Production Director, Program Director, and other station staff to contribute to Impact 89FM’s sound.

Position Summary:The Production Assistant will aid in the creation of legal IDs, bumpers, promos, PSAs, show intros/outros, and other audio production elements that define the station’s sound. This role involves aiding producers, working on projects, and ensuring that all audio content reflects Impact 89FM’s mission, values, and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Audio Production Support:
Assist the Production Director with designing and producing station imaging elements, ensuring high-quality sound and alignment with brand standards. - Collaboration:
Work alongside the Production Director and other departments to develop a cohesive production plan. - Compliance:
Ensure adherence to FCC regulations, copyright laws, and station policies. - Technical Expertise:
Troubleshoot audio equipment, manage project workflows, and maintain organized storage systems. - Innovation:
Brainstorm creative audio content and integrate listener feedback to enhance the station’s sound.
- Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at Michigan State University.
- Demonstrated skills in audio production, including experience with Adobe Audition and sound design techniques.
- Familiarity with audio equipment such as microphones, mixers, and signal processors.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Willingness to work outside regular hours as needed.
- Passionate about enhancing Impact 89FM’s audio branding.
- Experience at Impact 89FM or another broadcast station.
- Familiarity with the station’s mission, vision, and values.
- Coursework or experience in sound design, audio production and mixing.
- Knowledge of audio production hardware, software and tools specific to radio broadcast, including Pro Tools, Telos Axia AoIP networked audio and ENCO automation systems.
As the Production Assistant, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in audio production while contributing to a community of passionate media professionals.

Starting Compensation:$15/Hour
