Admissions Assistant Director/S
The Assistant Director of Admissions Visit Programs is a critical role in the Office of Admissions, providing oversight of campus visit experiences while serving as a leader on the admissions team. This role requires a high degree of detail orientation, collaboration, and a focus on service delivery.
Coordination and execution of campus visit programs, including daily campus visits, open houses, admitted student programming, and scholarship competitions.
Oversees program budgets and spending
Collaborates with admissions and university marketing to advertise programs and create appropriate program materials
Directs staff and provides assignments for program participation
Communicates and collaborates with campus partners to offer innovative and welcoming campus programs
Serves on committees as a representative for the Office of Admissions
Counsels and guides students and families in developing educational plans to achieve their goals.
Reviews applications for admission in order to determine eligibility for acceptance to the university.
Travels to visit secondary schools and/or community colleges to represent the Office of Admissions and MSU
Supervises and evaluates the work of support and student staff
While this role is remote-friendly, the primary location for this role will be East Lansing and does require in-person work.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in professional admissions work at a regionally accredited institution, including planning and implementing admissions programs, developing and implementing marketing and recruitment plans and strategies, researching and analyzing admissions data: professional experience in a specialized admissions area;
making formal presentations; and working with the public; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Education, Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or a related Field
Experience planning, coordinating, and executing events, programs, or campus visit experiences preferred
Experience supervising student and professional staff preferred
