Greek Life and IACT Coordinator Michigan State University Role Overview

Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining Michigan State University Hillel as the Greek Life and IACT Coordinator. IACT Campus Program - IACT (Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed) is an initiative that builds on the success of Taglit Birthright Israel by providing community, support, and inspiration to students before and after their trip.

The Greek Life and IACT Coordinator will support students before and after their Taglit-Birthright Israel experiences, creating opportunities for them to stay engaged in Jewish life on campus. They will encourage students to take on leadership roles, participate in student-led Jewish programming, and connect with Israel-related opportunities both on and off campus. This role is more than just a job—it’s a chance to wake up each day (or at least most!)

feeling genuinely excited and motivated to help students explore, experience, and build meaningful connections to Israel. This is so much more than your average 9-to-5.

MSU Hillel is “the place to be” for more than 2,700 Jewish students dents take ownership of Hillel as their Jewish community center on campus. Our mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world. Together, we are building a new generation of Jewish leaders.

What You’ll Do
  • You’ll actively expand the number of Birthright Israel trip participants from Michigan State University through effective recruitment and marketing strategies.
  • Encouraging Birthright Israel participants to stay involved in Jewish life through Israel education, advocacy, community service, and learning. Providing personalized follow-up to help alumni strengthen their connection to Judaism, Israel and Hillel.
  • Strengthening campus Jewish life by using Birthright Israel participants as a core group to engage and connect others.
  • Advising and overseeing the activities of student groups relating to Jewish Life/Israel programming and education.
  • Develop relationships with Jewish students from different groups on campus (Greek life, majors, etc.) and non-affiliated Jewish students to help them register for upcoming Birthright Israel Trips.
  • Meet with students to help connect them with leadership roles in Hillel.
  • Work with Spartans for Israel and Spartans to Israel student groups to execute small and large-scale campus programs.
What You’ll Bring to the Job
  • 0-2 years professional work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Self-driven, motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic about Israel programming and travel.
  • Self-starting and motivated to seek out opportunities and projects.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of groups - outgoing and personable.
  • Excellent follow-through on projects and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to manage projects with many moving parts, set timetables, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Prior travel experience in Israel and a familiarity with Israel and Judaism.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Jewish education and outreach.
  • Knowledge of Israeli society and culture.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Greek life.
  • Strong Marketing Background.
  • Proven leadership skills and the capacity for effective teamwork and group leadership.
What You’ll Receive
  • Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary band for this role is $45,000 - $55,000 based on experience.
