3rd Grade Teacher

St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School in East Lansing, is seeking a Third Grade Teacher for the  school year. The position is responsible for all grade level core subjects as well as religion instruction. The successful candidate must be faith-filled, have strong classroom management skills, is dynamic, compassionate, energetic, and willing to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Candidate qualifications and requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from an accredited university
• Valid Michigan teaching certification
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must have a strong working knowledge of the Faith
• Ability with computers and other educational technology
• Committed to life‑long learning
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents

While performing duties, employee has to walk up and down stairs, sit, stoop, squat, stand, reach, talk, hear, read, write, use a computer, and carry items that weigh up to 40 pounds. Teachers are in close physical contact with their students through teaching in the classroom and will also be in close physical contact with coworkers and parents during meetings throughout the school year.
