Salary Range: $67,000 - $106,000 depending on experience

The OpportunityWe are partnering with organizations in East Lansing that are seeking Tooling Engineers. Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tools, dies, and fixtures.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling failures.
- Manage tooling projects from concept through production launch.
- Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets specifications and production needs.
- Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and modification of existing production tooling.
- Evaluate and select appropriate tooling materials and manufacturing processes.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling performance, efficiency, and lifespan.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, Mastercam) for tool design and simulation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as stamping, injection molding, machining, or die casting.
- Proven experience in the design, development, and improvement of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
- Knowledge of material properties, heat treatment, and surface finishes relevant to tooling applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues, implement corrective actions, and optimize tool performance.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and application.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or mold/die flow simulation software for tooling validation.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies applied to tooling processes.
- Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) processes for prototyping or producing tooling components.
- Experience integrating tooling solutions with automation and robotics in a manufacturing environment.
