Supplier Quality Engineer | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $84,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in East Lansing that are seeking Supplier Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality improvement plans.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues and non-conformances.
• Collaborate with supply chain and engineering to define supplier quality requirements.
• Monitor and report on key supplier quality performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for supplier quality processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field
• 3+ years experience in supplier quality or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949) and relevant quality tools (e.g., FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, 8D)
• Proven ability to conduct supplier audits, source inspections, and drive root cause analysis for supplier non-conformances
• Experience with various manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, injection molding, or electronics assembly

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Lead Auditor (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100)
• Experience with advanced quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP)
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
• Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt)
