Reliability Engineer | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $77,000 - $117,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies.
• Analyze equipment failures and develop root cause analysis (RCA) solutions.
• Optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs and schedules.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for asset reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new equipment specifications and installations.
• Develop and track key reliability metrics and KPIs.
• Provide technical expertise and training on reliability best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of reliability methodologies and tools (e.g., FMEA, RCA, RCM, Weibull analysis).
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and implement data-driven solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) certification.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies and tools (e.g., FMEA, RCM, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Mini Tab, JMP, R, Python) for statistical process control and predictive modeling.
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM).
• Project management experience, particularly with continuous improvement or reliability-focused initiatives.
