Position Description
The roles and responsibilities for a Student Professional Aide in the MSU Infrastructure Planning & Facilities (IPF) Building Performance Services Department (BPS) consist of, but are not limited to the following:
30% Support the BPS Energy Project Manager by utilizing Auto Desk CAD MEP (or equivalent) to update project drawings for Energy Conservation Measures and Capital Renewal – Deferred Maintenance projects (focusing on mechanical / HVAC / electrical / controls related content).
20% Provide data entry support and analysis for Asset Management Team, including but not limited to, the campus-wide Steam Trap Management Program.
20% Support the development and tracking of energy efficiency measures, including but not limited to – compiling filtered project lists for final reports, conducting energy calculations on day to day findings as submitted by the BPS Re-Commissioning team, taking field measurements / making observations in support energy rebate programs.
20% Utilize the MSU IPF document management system (Blue Cielo Meridian) to carry out extensive document research with the intention of compiling project support documents for BPS Project Managers (eg, relevant construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and other project documentation which must be filtered through to compile these building assessment work packages).
10% Assist BPS Project Managers as part of comprehensive building analysis using field investigations which may include but are not limited to, HVAC system control sequence checks, HVAC testing/adjusting/balancing verifications/surveys, infra-red scanning, vibration analysis, sound analysis, indoor air quality testing, various other methods of energy auditing.
