Schedule: Mon-Fri, no nights or weekends

Shift: General 8/hr shift (Shift times will vary with clinic schedule)

To aid in our rapid growth and continue to differentiate our patient experience, we’re hiring a Medical Assistant. This role will be required travel and perform assigned duties at all current locations and future acquired locations by Pinnacle GI Partners.

The ideal candidate will have completed all levels of education to have achieved a High School or GED degree, completed a medical training course or a Medical Assistant Program, and have 1‑3 years of customer service experience, preferably within a medical setting. The Medical Assistant will report directly to the Clinical Supervisor and demonstrate working within a team and independently in a fast‑paced environment.

This role reports to the Clinical Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to verify medical and surgical history, medications, and allergies; measure vital signs and document in chart.
  • Prep charts no later than the day before clinic.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients; clean and restock exam rooms daily.
  • Assist Physician with procedures when needed.
  • Drape patients, position instruments and equipment.
  • Hand instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments.
  • Inventory and order medical supplies and materials.
  • Operate breath test equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests; calibrate equipment and contact representative if repairs are needed; check supplies monthly and reorder if needed.
  • Administer patient immunizations.
  • Obtain x‑ray, lab tests, and pathology results as needed; obtain discharge summary, labs, x‑ray, procedure notes and pathology for all in‑patient follow‑up visits.
  • Inventory drug samples and contact reps when stock is low; check stock monthly for outdated drugs and discard them.
  • Obtain medication authorizations as needed; maintain open communication with physicians, MLPs and triage nurses to carry out written orders with accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Answer phone messages for prescription refills or sample requests; review chart to verify medication orders; discuss with physician or triage nurse if no orders on chart; forward all analgesic requests to triage nurses; refer to front office if appointment indicated; document in patient’s chart.
  • Phone in prescription requests to pharmacies and document into patient’s chart, primarily e‑scribe.
  • Print office schedules for the next day.
Qualifications
  • Completion of High School or a GED program.
  • Completion of a Medical program or a Medical Assistant program.
  • Obtained RMA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1‑3 years of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • High competency with general computer applications and functions.
  • Successfully pass a background check and a drug screening.
Travel

Occasional travel after an established training period.
