Aboutthe role
18-24 month contract, Hybrid opportunity (East Lansing, MI)
Our client is seeking a Scrum Master to support multiple teams involved in their enterprise-wide modernization initiatives, including core system replacements, online banking transitions, data platform modernization, and cross-association program work. This role will partner closely with Product Owners, RTEs, other Scrum Masters, and technical stakeholders to enable team effectiveness, ensure alignment across work streams, and drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is a strong facilitator and servant leader with experience in SAFe environments and familiarity working within complex, multi-vendor, multi-system programs.
What you’ll do- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and ensure effective team cadence.
- Coach teams in Agile and SAFe practices to improve collaboration, predictability, and delivery.
- Remove and manage team-level impediments, escalating when necessary.
- Support teams working across dependencies.
- Drive continuous improvement by promoting metrics‑driven decision-making, feedback loops, and process optimization.
- Partner with the Product Owner to maintain a healthy backlog, clarify scope, and ensure readiness for upcoming sprints.
- Collaborate closely with the Release Train Engineer and other Scrum Masters to ensure alignment across teams within the program.
- Help the team coordinate key activities related to:
- Loan Accounting System Modernization (CLS, Profile)
- Online Banking transitions (e.g., D1C)
- Data Lake House integrations and reporting support
- FCS Financial offboarding and Plant program dependencies
- Lamina integration for Capital Markets, where applicable
- Support cross-team planning using tools such as Azure Dev Ops and Click Up, including dependency tracking, milestones, and capacity insights.
- Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and value delivery.
- 3–5+ years of Scrum Master experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong understanding of SAFe principles and experience working on or near an Agile Release Train.
