1st Shift Part-Time Custodian
Michigan State University – East Lansing, MI
Pay Range$15.00/hr - $15.00/hr
Shift ScheduleMonday‑Friday: 5 am to 9 am | 20 hours weekly.
Duties- Perform cleaning and maintenance activities.
- Remove trash.
- Dust surfaces.
- Vacuum areas.
- Mop floors.
- Disinfect restrooms.
- Understand and give verbal or written instructions.
- Read chemical, biological, or radioactive warning signs.
- Remove snow with a shovel or snow blower.
- Maintain training records required for custodial methods, equipment, and products.
- Work with student employees and communicate and interact with the University community.
- Act as a liaison with the Department of Public Safety.
- Maintain product inventory.
- Make independent decisions to achieve acceptable cleaning standards using appropriate methods, products, and equipment.
- Engage in high‑performing, leading‑edge practices, valuing people, partners, and stewardship.
