Position Summary

Provide comfort, safety, and general supervision to residents by assisting them with activities of daily living and tending to their individual care needs while learning their preferences and personalities to assure a safe, protected, clean, and orderly environment.

Job Duties & Essential Functions
  • Arrive punctually at scheduled shift time ready to work
  • Understand, comply with, and promote Resident Rights
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident health information as required by HIPAA
  • Understand and comply with universal precautions, infection control, isolation, fire, safety, and sanitation practices
  • Ensure a safe environment for residents, visitors, and co‑workers
  • Provide resident care as outlined in the resident care guide/service plan
  • Answer residents’ call signals and respond to door alarms, fire alarms, etc.
  • Complete daily charting and documentation as required
  • Observe and report resident behavior and condition changes (including food/liquid intake, vital signs, skin concerns, weight, and signs of injury or neglect)
  • Obtain resident weight, vitals and conduct blood sugar checks; report results to the resident care manager/specialist
  • Adhere to procedures regarding equipment, cleaners, and other hazardous materials and report incidents or accidents promptly
  • Attend mandatory in‑service meetings and continuing education opportunities as required
  • Display a caring, respectful, and positive attitude when addressing residents, family members and co‑workers
Additional Functions and Responsibilities
  • Capture ancillary supply costs for billable supplies to residents
  • Clean spills, soiled areas, and other conditions as observed or directed
  • Perform general housekeeping and laundry duties as required
  • Assist with kitchen and dining room tasks associated with resident meals (preparation, serving, cleanup, setting tables, taking out trash, etc.)
  • Participate in or lead leisure activities as planned by the Life Engagement team; assist and remind residents to participate
  • Perform other duties as requested within the scope of responsibility

Education, Experience, and Skills
