Position: Postdoctoral Scholar-Fixed Term

Postdoctoral Scholar-Fixed Term

The Plant, Soil, and Microbial Sciences Department at Michigan State University is seeking a Post Doctoral Scholar to support research, student recruitment, and scholarly publication activities within the department.

The appointment is divided among research activities (50%), undergraduate recruitment and outreach (25%), and scientific publication and dissemination efforts (25%).

Job Responsibilities:

Research (50%)

  • Conduct laboratory, greenhouse, field, and data analysis activities supporting plant pathology and crop protection research programs.
  • Assist with experimental design, sample collection, data management, and preparation of research reports and publications.

Recruitment & Outreach (25%)

  • Develop recruitment and promotional materials for prospective students.
  • Support departmental websites, social media, campus visits, and outreach events.
  • Engage with students, families, industry partners, and community organizations to promote departmental programs and opportunities.

Publication and Scholarly Activities (25%)

  • Finalize and submit peer-reviewed manuscripts from previously completed research projects.
  • Assist with preparation of graduate student research chapters for publication.
  • Organize and analyze existing datasets and materials to support manuscript development and submission.

Doctorate
-Plant pathology, Crop and Soil Science, or Related Field
