This position will install, maintain, repair, and alter high voltage (over 600 volts) electrical distribution systems, transformers, generators, switch gear and components, including the most fundamental repairs and maintenance. Regular in-person attendance is required to meet business and customer needs.

This position will engage in high performing, leading edge practices, valuing people, partners and stewardship.

Salary- $42.38 - $50.37 per hour upon meeting progression step requirements. MSU Benefits - Free comprehensive health care for you and your family as well as a 10% contribution toward your retirement;
Generous sick, vacation, personal and holiday time. Not eligible to work a remote schedule. Regular in-person attendance is required to meet business and customer needs.

• Completion of a high school education or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
• Successful completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program
• eight years of experience in the electrical trade with at least two year working with high voltage (over 600 volts and above) and includes six years of experience installing commercial/industrial electrical distribution systems, maintenance and trouble-shooting and demonstrated ability to independently perform the duties and responsibilities of the classification, or equivalent education/experience
• Possession of a State of Michigan Master Electrician license
• Knowledge of the equipment, methods and materials used in the repair and installation of primary electrical systems
• Knowledge of the maintenance requirements of primary electrical equipment, fixtures and devices
• Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, equipment, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the trade
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, rules, and regulations (local, state, and national)
• Operate a computer effectively using job-related databases
• Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license
• Must furnish own hand tools
• Frequent lifting of 26 to 75 pounds and occasional lifting of over 75 pounds
• This positions requires response to emergency call-ins within 60 minutes of initial contact

WORK HOURS:

Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm and may require after-hours, weekend and holiday work.
