Automotive Technician
Hire Art is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire an engineering-focused Vehicle Technician to support the readiness of their fully autonomous robotaxi VH6 vehicles.
You will perform maintenance, repairs, fleet reworks, and contribute to the operations of our workshop. This includes scheduled/preventative maintenance and services, diagnostics, repair coordination, and general upkeep of vehicles.
Responsibilities- Perform high-quality repairs and inspections efficiently and accurately according to work instructions and document findings in a specialized service platform.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and system checks, making appropriate recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
- Inspect and test all work performed as a quality control (QC) measure upon job completion.
- Be willing/able to travel locally to configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage.
- Build excellent service experience for internal teams and business partners.
- Assist with parts/tools inventory, location, and organization; ensure technician tools and shop facilities are in excellent working condition.
- Operate all equipment in the service center safely and productively, following safety standards for PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection.
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations that affect service center operations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal, OSHA guidelines).
- 5+ years of automotive technician experience
- Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Advanced electrical, ADAS, CAN and data collection experience
- Clean/excellent driving record
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and deliverables
- Reliable self-starter with a "roll up the sleeves" work ethic
- Outstanding communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Must be honest and responsible with a team player spirit
- Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in Automotive Repair
- ASE certification and/or manufacturer certification
- R&D experience (e.g., experience in an automotive-focused engineering or research lab such as Dyno, Battery, etc.)
- Ability to operate comfortably within and troubleshoot Linux-based systems
- Diagnostic troubleshooting experience with OEM systems, including high-level experience working with:
- HV systems and hybrid drive trains
- CAN/LIN
- HVAC, cooling, chassis and suspension
- Knowledgeable regarding optimization of fleet maintenance and OEM maintenance items
- Diagnostic experience with embedded modules, self-driving systems and sensor stacks
- Experience with wiring diagrams and soldering
- Experience and ability to tow a car hauler and other large trailers to transport fleet vehicles
- Ability to travel locally and nationally (on occasion)

This is a full-time, 6-month ongoing contract position staffed via Hire Art. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the East Liberty, OH area.
