Job Description – Supervisor
Shift differential $2.30 for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
SummaryPlans, directs, coordinates, and performs assembly processes in an industrial plant, overseeing the entire production cycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop, evaluate, and improve methods.
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confere with planning and design staff regarding product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confere with management and other staff regarding assembly capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include:
training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
To successfully perform this job, a candidate must possess the following:
- Education and/or
Experience:
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Computer
Skills:
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Navision. - Language
Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. - Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle or feel, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentRegularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration; moderate noise level.
