Key Responsibilities &
Essential Functions:
- Perform comprehensive health assessments, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, and imaging studies.
- Develop, implement, and manage treatment plans based on patient assessment findings.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions within scope of practice and organizational guidelines.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and established protocols.
- Administer medications, injections, and other therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
- Perform clinical procedures consistent with education, training, licensure, and organizational policies.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and wellness initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate and manage patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Review patient records, test results, and consultation reports to support continuity of care.
- Respond to patient inquiries, triage patient concerns, and provide clinical consultation as appropriate.
- Recommend community resources and support services to address patient and family needs.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, quality standards, clinical guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and professional development activities.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
What you need to succeed:
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
- Advanced knowledge of nursing theory, evidence-based practice, and patient care standards.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, safety standards, and clinical best practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to educate patients, families, and caregivers effectively.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly and respond effectively in emergency or urgent situations.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records;
Epic experience preferred. - Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and exceptional patient experiences.
Education & Experience:
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional nursing experience required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.
- Specialty-specific clinical experience may be preferred based on practice needs.
Licenses &
Certifications:
- Current Ohio Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required.
- Current DEA registration, if applicable to specialty and prescribing responsibilities.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Additional specialty certifications may be required based on practice area.
