Wieland is hiring a Warehouse Laborer
. The Warehouse Laborer will be responsible for the maintenance of saws and inventory of saw supplies; material handling includes receipt, inventory, shipping, and general accounting of material received, whether for inventory purchases or buy/sell purchases. This role is located in East Longmeadow, MA, and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr
Schedule: Monday - Thursday | 7 am - 5 pm, Friday | 8 am - 12 pm

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR"), and the ability to access and handle ITAR "Technical Data" as defined by 22 CFR 120.33 is an essential function.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment by following Wieland's Golden Rules and Core Values.
  • Receive inventory and inspect for defects.
  • Process work orders.
  • Retrieve inventory from stock for Saw Operators.
  • Package processed material for shipment.
  • Full inventory count once per year.
  • Assist in housekeeping in warehouse.
  • Assist with maintenance work when needed.
  • Backup for Shipping/Receiving functions, as follows:
  • When material is received, retrieve order file, verify material and packing list against purchase order and ensure certificate of analysis is included. Tag material as required by procedures.
  • Inspect material for weight, diameter and length and heat number. Tag as required by procedures.
  • Understand and practice care in the use (including checking the calibration) of measuring equipment utilized in the inspection of materials.
  • Mark, stamp or tag all materials (whether inventory or buy/sell orders) as required by customer purchase orders/contracts.
  • Package materials for shipment appropriately to prevent damage or as required by customer purchase orders/contracts.
  • Advise office if any discrepancies.
  • Final inspection responsibility is shared with other warehouse personnel.
  • Inspect and color code and put material into inventory locations.
  • Complete Cert Cover Page and Addition to Inventory forms and file in the office.
  • Record in expediting system as each function on an order is performed.
  • Ensure that materials are stored to protect from damage and clearly identified.
  • Give file to accounting when material is final inspected and/or put into inventory.
  • Any additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or Warehouse Manager.
  • Follow all safety rules as outlined in Wieland safety programs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Knowledge of Unix operating system or ability to learn.
  • Read measuring instruments such as micrometer, dial calipers, etc.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
