2nd Shift Quality Lab Technician

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm

$23.50 plus 9 % shift differential, totaling $25.61 per hour

The Quality Lab Technician (QLT) works at the East Longmeadow, MA plant and supports 24/5+ production operations. The QLT collects and inspects daily samples, documents results, reports non‑conformances, and collaborates with operations to resolve issues. The role contributes to continuous improvement and maintains quality standards across the manufacturing process.

• Inspection of incoming raw, scheduled and unscheduled in‑process, and finished materials and products.
• Documenting and communicating inspection results, following up on issues and questions.
• Reporting non‑conform ant in‑process material and assisting with containment.
• Providing investigative lab support for new product development, productivity and process change activities.
• Final process/product inspection and audits.
• Participating in internal audits of manufacturing processes.
• Participating in regular maintenance and calibration of inspection methods and test equipment.
• Developing and documenting new inspection and measurement processes.

• 2‑year college technical degree preferred; relevant factory/quality experience may qualify.
• Positive team player with a desire to learn and grow.
• Proficient with lab measurement equipment: comparators, microscopes, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, hardness testing, and metallurgical mounts.
• Metallurgical knowledge preferred.
• Experience operating advanced inspection equipment:
  Micro‑Vu, CMM, Alicona, Keyence, and future new equipment.
• Knowledge of basic quality terms, definitions, concepts, and techniques including statistical process control (SPC).
• Knowledge of testing methods.
• Technical report writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Outlook required).
• Experience with ISO/QS documentation and requirements.
• Dimensional and performance analysis on new product development programs.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings using general knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
• Independent and team collaboration skills, basic problem‑solving, conflict resolution, prioritization, and demonstrated leadership.
• Operations experience at the East Longmeadow facility is a plus.

Hourly rate: $23.50 – $24.10
